Myth-5 Anyone With Olive Skin Has Oily Skin

There is a common misconception that olive and oily skin go together. Most people from the Mediterranean, the Middle East and the northern parts of Asia have olive skin, but their skin is actually very dry. Very few people, if any, have ‘oily’ skin. As a result olive-skinned people can also get skin cancer, even though they may have a little less tendency than fair-skinned Caucasians to do so. Also, contrary to popular belief, the consumption of olive oil on a regular basis, while possibly having some benefits in the prevention of heart disease, is unlikely to increase skin oiliness.
